Outbound for e-commerce brands selling wholesale

Outbound for consumer brands opening a B2B wholesale channel: buyer lists by retail segment, seasonal timing, and replies from people who actually place orders.

In short

A consumer brand opening a wholesale channel has the opposite problem to a software company. The product is easy to explain and the buyers are numerous, scattered and busy. The work is segmentation and timing, not persuasion.

What is included

ICP and target listI define who actually buys, then build the account list and find the named decision maker at each one. No bought lists.
Verified contact dataEvery address goes through a multi step waterfall before it is used, so budget is not spent emailing bounces.
Offer and copyOne named reason to reply per segment, written short and human, spam checked before it sends.
Sending infrastructureSeparate domains and mailboxes, warmed before launch. Your main domain never sends a cold email.
Email and LinkedIn as one motionThe same accounts get reached on both channels in the same week, sequenced rather than duplicated.
Replies and reportingReplies are classified and answered fast. Weekly reporting shows what is working so we push more of it.

Segment by buyer type, not by product

The same product sells to salons, hotels, independent retailers, e-shops and corporate gifting buyers, and every one of those reads a different first message. A salon owner cares about margin per treatment. A hotel buyer cares about consistency and restocking. A gifting buyer cares about lead time in October and nothing else in March.

Running one campaign across all of them produces the worst result available, because the message has to get vaguer to fit everyone. Separate waves per buyer type consistently beat one broad list, even though it is more work to build.

Timing is half the campaign

Wholesale buying is seasonal in a way software never is. Gifting decisions are made months before the season, retail ranges are reviewed on a cycle, and hospitality buys around refurbishment. Sending the right message in the wrong month reads as irrelevant rather than early.

So the calendar gets built before the list, and waves are scheduled against when each segment actually decides rather than when the campaign happens to be ready.

Reaching the owner, not the inbox

In small retail and hospitality the buyer is the owner, and the address on the website is a general one. That makes verification and a credible sender matter more than clever copy, because the first hurdle is simply arriving somewhere a human reads.

How the engagement runs

Week one defines the ICP and the offer. Weeks one and two build the list, verify the data and warm the sending infrastructure. Campaigns go live in week two or three, and from there replies get handled and the angles that work get more volume. You get weekly reporting and the interested replies. I have booked 2000+ meetings for B2B clients running this way.

There are two ways to run it. Done for you means I build and run the engine. Fractional GTM means I plug in as your GTM lead and we build it with your team, so you keep the system afterwards.

Frequently asked

We sell direct to consumers. Does outbound work for a wholesale channel?

Usually better than for software, because the product is concrete and the buyer can evaluate it quickly. The constraint is segmentation and timing rather than convincing anyone the category exists.

What does a good wholesale prospect list look like?

Built per buyer type and per market, with a named owner or buyer where possible, verified, and sized to the wave you are about to send rather than to the whole market.

Can you run this across several countries?

Yes, and local language matters here more than in most categories, because these buyers are small businesses rather than international companies.

How long before we see orders?

Campaigns are live in two to three weeks. First replies come within the first weeks of sending, but a wholesale conversation often runs to samples and a first trial order, so the revenue lands later than the meeting does.
